The preposition is a word showing position.
A preposition is used to show direction, location, or time, or to introduce an object. 
Here are some prepositions and examples.

On:
Used with surface of something:

Used to indicate a part of the body:
  • Ahsan kissed me on my cheek.
  • She wears a ring on her finger.
Used to indicate the state of something:
  • Everything in this store is on sale.
Used for a certain side (left, right)
  •  Market is on the left site.
  •  bakery is on the right side.
Used for a floor in a house.
  • We live on the 3rd flour.

At:
Used with specific time or a certain point of time.
  • We will meet them at 10 a.m.
  • The bus will stop there at 6:00 a.m.

  • I saw a baseball game at the stadium.
Used to indicate an email address:

Used to indicate an activity:
  • She laughed at his acting.
Used for night and midnight.
  • I will come at night.

Of is used for city and country For Example:

From:
In the sense of where from.
  • A flower from the garden.
Which country.
  • Where are you from?
From and to
  • The class will be start from 3 to 5 pm.




To:

Telling the time.
  • It is eight to nine (8:52).

Movement to person or building.
  • We go to the school.

Movement to a place or country.
  • He is going to London.
  • She will go to England.

Used for bed.
  • They are going to bed.

Past:
Telling the time.
  • It is eight past nine (9:08).


To / till / until:
Marking the beginning and end of a period of time
  • We are coming from Monday to/till Saturday.

Till / until:
In the sense of how long something is going to last.
Ali is on holiday until Sunday.


During:
  • Don't distrub him during the meeting.

Towards
  • Let us walk towards the college's gate.

Since:
from a certain point of time (past till now).
since 1983.


For:
Over a certain period of time (past till now)
  • for three years.

Used for opposite.

A certain time in the past.

Earlier than a certain point of time.

Beneath:
  • He is sleeping beneath the blanket.

In the sense of at the latest.
  • I will be back by 7 o’clock.
Up to a certain time.

By, Next to, Beside:
left or right of somebody or something.
  • Aliza is standing by / next to / beside the bakery.


Under:
On the ground, lower than (or covered by) something else.

Lower than something else but above ground.

Meaning more than.

Above:
Higher than something else, but not directly over it.

        Beside:
        • The ball is beside the box.
        • Lamp is beside the sofa.

        Outside:
        • The ball is outside the box.


        Inside:
