We use the words this and that before singular nouns and these and those before plural nouns.This and these are used to indicate items that are fairly close at hand, that and those are used inticate the items that are further away.

That:
  • That is mango tree.
  • That house is big.
  • That is our house.
  • That is very expensive watch.
  • That is a good question.
  • Who is that boy?
  • Can you give me that book?
  • That is mine.
  • That is a good idea.
  • I can't allow you to do that.
  • Can I eat that?
  • That is a hospital.
